Posting on social media does not have to be a chore or a bore! It’s important to connect with your followers and there’s no better way than to create engaging social media posts. Although this article gives you 30 prompts, it’s up to you whether you would like to do these 30 prompts in 30 days or not. There’s no rule that says you have to post every day in order to engage your audience. Even several times a week on a regular basis can engage your followers and let them get to know you better. More engagement can lead to more interest in you as an artist and your artwork, and even possibly more sales. Engaging your viewers helps them connect with you and your art.
Feel free to interpret these content ideas through a written post with photos and or video. whether you challenge yourself to post 30 posts in 30 days or just several posts per week, the variety of content that you share will help your audience connect with you even more. Instead of only posting one kind of post or only showing pictures of your artwork, this list will add quite a variety to your social media posting.
Write about why you wanted to be an artist.
Share your earliest memories of art.
Explain how you started out.
Show how you pack your works for shipping.
Post a photo or video of you signing your work.
Talk about your process on video or through a series of images.
Post a selfie of yourself with your artwork in your studio.
Talk about what a typical day for you looks like and ask about your audience's routines.
Mention a goal for the month or year.
Post when you reach your goals or hit new milestones!
Share a cause or charity you care about.
Tease an upcoming show, project, or collaboration.
Do a video tour or show photos of an exhibition you're participating in.
Share an older piece and how your art has changed over time.
Post a detail image of one of your pieces.
Remind people of artwork being for sale and how they can contact you.
Name a few artists you have in your personal collection or who you'd love to collect.
Share a sketch and then the painting, what sparked the idea. Ask audience how art inspires new ideas for them?
Post a finished painting, could be a reel with several clips of the painting or simply a picture. Share the meaning behind the painting.
Share a dramatic before and after of a painting, (show the after first for better engagement) messy stage then refinement.
Closeups of pieces that will be in a show. Timelapse of you working on a painting.
Tell a story about a recent challenge, how you overcame it or are in the process of overcoming.
Make a time-lapse reel of something you're working on and voiceover of a short story about the theme and how you came up with it.
Write about your art studio and how much you love to be working in it.

Have your audience ask you questions about your work (use the questions function in IG stories, write it in a caption, or go live!).
Discuss how another hobby of yours relates to your art.
